This activity will help you decide which party you would have supported during the Spanish Civil War (1936-39). By playing the simulation you will learn more about the issues facing Spain on the eve of the Civil War and the beliefs of the various groups that fought in it.

In Stage 1, you will rank the problems facing Spain from most urgent (at the top) to least urgent (at the bottom).

In Stage 2, you will select the policy which you think is the best way of dealing with each of these problems.

In Stage 3, the computer will analyse the choices you made in Stages 1 & 2 and then match you up to the most appropriate political party that existed in Spain in 1936.

The simulation comes complete with a worksheet and a leaderboard so students can compare their profiles and teachers can monitor their factual scores.
