SAMUEL
ADOLPHUS HUNT (1907-1908 : 25), Acting Petty Officer, Drake Battalion, Royal
Naval Division, was a son of Mr Samuel Hunt of Bilston.
Having entered the school with a scholarship, he left in 1908 to take up
business in Hednesford. In 1915, he
joined the Royal Naval Division, and received training in London and at
Blandford; in November 1916, he sailed for France.
On April 23rd 1917, he was in action and fell mortally
wounded, though it was not till months later that he was known to have perished.
He had proved himself an energetic and conscientious soldier, much valued
by his company officer.
